Unión de Río Colorado prepares for its debut in the Federal Basketball Tournament

Unión de Río Colorado, a few hours after its debut in the Federal Tournament, the third category of national basketball, live moments of anxiety, nervousness and a lot of work both in the team and in the improvements and modern facilities of the field.

This last week, coach Enrique Moreno intensified the preparation and tactics to put together the best possible team, which will arrive somewhat decimated after the loss of 4 key players, including those affected by coronavirus and various injuries.
Unión will make its debut next Sunday at 8:00 p.m. at home, receiving another team from Rio Negro: Sol de Mayo.

During the practices, the experienced Puntaltense coach, Kike Moreno, was satisfied with the squad that he has under his command and assured that “the average does not exceed 22 years, but it will be a competitive team.”

“Two years ago I came to this club, which is very organized, and we formed a young squad to consolidate them for the next two seasons, giving them the best filming and making them the protagonists in this type of tournament to sustain this type of project over time”, estimated the coach.

“For this first participation in such an important category, the idea is not to spend a lot of money or mortgage the club. A lot of investments were made in boards and the remodeling of the field. We put together a team of boys to give battles, win and lose, but insert them in this type of tournament. And next year with a long way to go, see what piece needs to be retouched with a view to the other tournament.”

“The demands of the preseason left casualties that will be felt in the debut. We are somewhat decimated, we will see on Sunday, ”Moreno completed.
It should be remembered that The two teams from Río Negro share an area with Ferro de Pico, Alpachiri, All Boys de Santa Rosa and Pico FC.
