TV rights – Apple soon to be Major League Baseball (MLB) broadcaster?

After Amazon’s Prime Video platform, another video streaming player could soon enter the sports TV rights market.

According to New York Post, Apple has had “extensive discussions” with Major League Baseball (MLB) regarding the possibility of broadcasting games starting next season.

The match package concerned would be a few meetings during the week. From an economic point of view, the possible deal would be far from the contract signed between Amazon and the NFL according to the American media but the possible entry of Apple TV + on the market would obviously be to follow and could lead to other acquisitions if the giant gets caught up in the game. Unless this published information is only there to raise the stakes of Major League Baseball
