Tino Asprilla against Colombia National Team players: what he said about personality

After 6 games in the Qualifiers without converting a goal and the bad result that left the ‘Tricolor’ very bad in the standings, Faustino Asprilla shared his analysis on ESPN and criticized the players without any problem.

“Team without ideas, without commitment, weighed down by responsibility”, was the first description made by the former soccer player of this Colombian National Team led by Reinaldo Rueda, a coach who was booed by the fans who were at the Metropolitan Stadium in Barranquilla.

In another intervention, the popular ‘Tino’ highlighted that the current ‘Tricolor’ footballers do not do well when they play with this shirt.

“We have good players for the teams, but with the National Team shirt they are normal”, was the phrase with which he described the players, although he did not want to refer to any in particular.

During the game, journalists and fans criticized that many people pay the ticket, but do not support the team when the situation is critical and Faustino also made reference to that situation that shouldn’t affect the players, but it does.

“When the potatoes burn, the good players appear, but there are some who are driven by the encouragement of the tribune and do not stand out because they are superior to the others. Everything is nice, the stadium is full, nobody treats them badly, but they don’t work”, commented ‘Tino’.

In fact, at the end of the game, the relationship between the fans and the team ended up breaking down due to some whistles to which James Rodríguez responded from the field.

In his career as a soccer player, Faustino said that he also experienced situations of having the Colombian public against him. “In our time, if we hadn’t scored a goal after 10 minutes, they would yell at us from the stands for Valenciano and Pachequito“, he remembered the pressure that the Barranquilla fans put on.

True to his taste for dribbling and being a skilled player, something he showed since he was a player, ‘Tino’ made a reflection on the absence of someone who breaks with the schemes. “They didn’t give 2 passes in a row. No player is capable of getting into the area and throwing a gambeta, a wall. They make the easiest or throw centers that do not end in anything, “he said.

‘Tino’ Asprilla on the match Colombia vs. Peru

The former player also gave his opinion about what he saw in this game for date 15 of the Qualifiers and that left David Ospina as the center of criticism for making a mistake that ended in the final score 0-1.

“Peru made a shot on goal and that’s it. If Colombia is not capable of reading these types of matches in which the rival is closed, we will never go to the World Cup“, assured the now analyst on television.

Regarding the match against the red-and-white, ‘Fausto’ wanted to remove all responsibility from the forwards because “no one creates possibilities” not even when “the Peruvians were dead, liquidated”.
