COVID-19: Please refer to the death notice below to validate if the events are maintained, postponed or canceled.
At the Fleurimont Hospital in Sherbrooke (CHUS), passed away on December 27, 2021, at the age of 80, Pierre Thibeault. Born in Verdun, he was the son of the late Berthe Hébert and the late Germain Thibeault. He is survived by his children and their spouses: Anne (Nathalie Bourret), Danièle (Michel Arsenault), Marie-Hélène (Marc Tessier), Guillaume (Angèle Belliveau), his grandchildren: Elyse (Samuel Migneault), Olivier, Eve, Thomas, William and Zoë, his companion, Annette Ledoux, as well as several friends.
Pierre was a strong man with a big heart. Holder of a master’s degree in philosophy and a bachelor’s degree in law, he specialized in the field of copyright early in his professional career. In addition to representing artists of international renown, his greatest pride in this capacity was to orchestrate the agreements for the musical rights for the ceremonies of the Montreal Olympic Games in 1976.
Alongside his career as a lawyer, Pierre has reinvented himself as an entrepreneur many times and in several sectors. A hard worker, he ran major music recording studios, delivered real estate projects, and built one of the largest indoor tennis clubs in the Laurentians in the early 1990s. Over the past 20 years, he had experienced a notable success in the field of energy efficiency by developing an innovative method for the insulation and lighting of indoor tennis clubs in Quebec, Ontario and even the United States.
In addition to his professional determination and creativity, Pierre was above all passionate about life! As a young man, he had been a great sportsman in baseball, football, hockey and tennis. Over time, his greatest passions were to discover new horizons, a good meal with friends, to attend a jazz concert in happy company, to dash with his 8 iron to achieve an approach shot and watch the Wimbledon final or the Super Bowl with a bowl of peanuts!
But above all, Pierre’s greatest pride was his family. An only son, he always looked forward to seeing his four children and six grandchildren flourish in their respective lives. He was very proud of everyone, and particularly happy to see the love that united them.
Given the health situation, the family will hold a virtual celebration of life in memory of Pierre on Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Anyone interested in participating are invited to complete the following form before February 25 to receive instructions for accessing the ceremony on Zoom live on the day of the event: (coming soon). The ceremony will be recorded for those unable to free themselves that day.
Your expressions of sympathy can result in a donation to www.autismcanada.org, an organization supporting autism in Canada and a cause that Pierre particularly cherished out of love for his grandson William.
