The locations and dates of the 2022 Youth EuroBasket are known

The Board of Directors of FIBA ​​Europe approved at the beginning of December all the venues and dates for the youth category tournaments for the year 2022.

Here is the complete list of the European Youth Championships, by category.

  • The U20 M will play from July 15 to 24 in Montenegro
  • The U20 F will play from July 8 to 17 in Hungary
  • The U18 M will play from July 29 to August 7 in Turkey
  • The U18 F will play from August 5 to 14 in Greece
  • The U16 M will play from August 11 to 20 in North Macedonia
  • The U16 F will play from August 18 to 27 in Portugal

These tournaments will concern the generations from 2002 (U20) to 2006 (U16), potentially with 2007 (U15). Vice world champion in the U19s, the 2002 generation composed of Matthew Strazel and other Clément Frisch or Lucas Ugolin will try to win their first and last title. The 2004 (U18) and 2006 (U16) generations will experience their first Euro, the latter having been abolished in 2020 and 2021 due to constraints linked to COVID-19. Among the girls, the promising 2002 generation led by Pauline Astier, Louise Bussière and Leila Lacan had disappointed at the U19 World Cup earlier this year. They will be keen to get back to Euro U20.
