The first great Aragonese judo festival

The kimono was replaced by party clothes. Aragonese judo and the associated disciplines that coexist in the Aragonese Federation (FAJYDA) lived their first gala on Saturday in Huesca, an event organized at the Abba hotel with which they wanted to highlight the boom and momentum that this sport is experiencing in community and in which more than one hundred distinctions were distributed. Historical figures were honored, the support of the different collaborators, sponsors and institutions was recognized, and the latest sporting successes were awarded. “The appointment has been the confirmation that judo is a sport that is practiced more and more, is more established in schools and sports centers, and contributes to transmitting important values ​​that the little ones are learning and acquiring as their own since they they start in their practice”, assured from the Territorial.

The evening included exciting reunions, surprises -many did not know they were going to be honored- and thanks. First came the applause for the pioneers of judo in Aragon, a short film focused on the role of women in this martial art was also screened and was followed by the awarding of distinctions.

All the 2021 medalists at the national and international level were highlighted. Among them, Sergio Pérez for his silver in the Paralympic Games and Judo Binéfar for the bronze in the National League. Within judo, Moussa Macalou and Raquel Miret were chosen as the best absolute athletes, while Álvaro and Alberto Gayarre were chosen as the best kata couple. In kendo, Alejandro Merino and Irene Serrano were chosen; in jujitsu, David Cruz and Ángela Díaz; and in aikido, Javier Madarro and Cristina Pérez. At the club level, among the judo clubs, the Zaragoza Judo Club stood out and, within the associated disciplines, the Zaragoza Takemusu Aikidojo Association.

At the institutional level, among others, There were also recognitions for the City Council of Huesca, the mayor himself, Luis Felipe, the first mayors of Jaca (Juan Manuel Ramón) and Binéfar (Alfonso Adán) and the general director of Sports of the Government of Aragon, Javier De Diego. Also for the Cantabrian and Asturian federations.
