The bad boy came up again in Wout van Aert: “Everyone is now wary at school” | cyclocross championships

Wout van Aert already revealed yesterday that he would pay another visit to a chip shop after his short and powerful cross winter. What was on the menu?

“A large fries with mayonnaise, stew sauce and a cervela special”, he checked his plate the day after.

Van Aert flooded Jan and everyone at the BC yesterday. In Middelkerke he won his 5th title and he celebrated that milestone with a “tsunami hand movement”.

“I think it’s a funny story myself,” he reflected again. “When we did a high five at school during the tsunami period in Thailand, you could avoid it by making that movement with your hand.”

“That’s how we caught each other. It was a silly joke, but I still sometimes do it with my wife to laugh. I thought it was appropriate to do it after my 5th title at sea.”

Van Aert is such a bastard that a high five sometimes dares to refuse, suggested presenter Fien Germijns. Van Aert laughed: “Today everyone will be wary at school.”

The Belgian champion will soon be on a plane to Spain for a team internship. With which wish list? “Good health. Then a lot will come naturally. But if I have to wish for something, just give me a monument.”
