Sue Bird will continue playing one more year

Sue Bird postpones his retirement for at least one more year to return to Seattle Storm the next season.

Bird, 41, announced his decision in an Instagram post this Friday, much to the joy of the Storm.

Bird openly contemplated withdrawal after the Storm were eliminated in the second round of the playoffs last season.

“This is the first time that I’m really going to have to sit down, see how I feel, weigh some things,” he said. Bird at that moment. “I know for sure that I want to let the excitement of the season fade. I don’t want to make an emotional decision.”
