This morning, in the Red Room of the Municipality of Savona, the Mayor Marco Russo and the Councilor for Sport Francesco Rossello awarded the “Savona sportsmen in the world” award to Savona athletes instructors and referees who participated in the Tokyo Olympics last summer . The award consisted of a certificate and a ceramic fish made by the artist Adriana Olivari.
“Savona must be proud of its athletes who have represented the whole country and our city at the highest international levels – says Mayor Marco Russo – Savona’s representation was varied not limited to the national synchronized swimming team, a true excellence of our city, but also involving other disciplines, a sign of an important vitality in the sports world “.

For this reason, as an administration we would like to institutionalize the Savona sports award in the world, because through it, it is possible to make known and valued the many Savona people, often involved in so-called minor sports, who manage to establish themselves at the highest international levels “.
