Rudy Gobert (Utah Jazz) is out of the Covid protocol

Rudy Gobert, who has missed the last five Utah Jazz games after submitting to the NBA’s anti-Covid protocol last week, returned to training on Friday and could play again on Sunday, against the Denver Nuggets. ESPN announced the information first, before the Jazz confirmed it overnight.

In the absence of the French pivot, Utah’s record has not been glorious, with four defeats and an average of 118.6 points conceded per game. The Salt Lake City franchise currently ranks fourth in the Western Conference.

Rudy Gay also back

Gobert is having perhaps the best first half of his NBA career. He averages 15.5 points, 15.1 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game. It was the second time the French player had contracted Covid-19. He was the first NBA player to test positive on March 11, 2020, which resulted in an immediate suspension of the season.

More good news for Utah: winger Rudy Gay is also out of the Covid protocol. Bench player, he averaged 9.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game this season.
