Romanisti mocks ‘Gypsy’ Ibrahimovic, Mourinho defends

Milan

AS Roma’s defeat of AC Milan was colored by insults that smelled of racial abuse at Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Jose Mourinho immediately prevented the action of I Lupi’s fans.

Roma visits the San Siro, Friday (7/1/2022) early morning WIB, in the inaugural Serie A match in 2022. It takes three points to get closer to the top four because they are six points behind Atalanta.

Unfortunately, Roma had conceded two goals in less than 20 minutes through Olivier Giroud and Junior Messias penalties. Roma had cut the score through Tammy Abraham in the 40th minute.

However, Rafael Leao’s goal in the 82nd minute ensured the three points for Milan through a 3-1 victory. This victory confirmed the position of Milan in second place standings with 45 points, one point difference from Inter Milan at the top of the standings.

Meanwhile, Roma is stuck in seventh position with 32 points and it is getting more and more difficult to get into the top four. This defeat felt even more sad because of the embarrassing actions committed by the fans.

It happened a minute before Leao’s goal came because of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s pass. Ibrahimovic was only played in the 77th minute replacing Olivier Giroud.

However, Roma fans then sang a chant mocking Ibrahimovic as a gypsy. Gypsies or so-called Roma people often move around because they are always discriminated against from the local community.

Usually the Gypsies always get a negative stigma from European upper class people. Ibrahimovic himself even though he does not have gypsy blood because his parents are from Bosnia and Croatia, who moved to Sweden because of the conflict in the Balkans.

Mourinho who heard Romanisti’s racist chants went straight to the away stands and asked them to stop mocking Zlatan Ibrahimovic. After that, the Roma fans immediately obeyed Mourinho’s request.

Jose Mourinho is awesome! Thus quoted by DAZN.
