The upcoming Salaryman’s Club anime introduces you to a group of office workers playing badminton. I expect tons of pointless bickering and middle-aged issues to arise in the middle of the game.
The Salaryman’s Club anime will be released on January 22, 2022. Crunchyroll will also air the anime.
A new trailer has also been revealed for the anime:
Mikoto Shiratori, the protagonist of the anime, is first seen reflecting with his colleagues at his workplace. Very quickly, the scene changes to show his frustration. (That’s the reality behind a happy desk, guys.)
We see Mikoto remembering an incident where he lost in a game during his school years, resulting in trauma. Now that he’s an adult, he has to face this trauma again and come back victorious.
The trailer also features the ending theme song from the anime “Nisen Gohyaku Man no Ichi” by Mafumafu.
The LIDEN FILMS studio is hosting this series, and I’m expecting a great production from the studio in charge of Tokyo Revengers.
Just because the anime focuses on business-to-business matches, don’t think it’s going to be a quiet series. Different teams from different offices will come together to compete.
I hope that outside of games we will also see some middle aged people complaining about their back problems.
About Ryman’s Club
Ryman’s Club is an original badminton-themed anime from TV Asahi and LIDEN FILMS. The sports genre anime revolves around former badminton prodigy Mikoto Shiratori who is still overwhelmed by the loss of one of his high school games.
Years later, Mikoto started working in the sales department of the Sunlight Beverage company and practiced the sport as a hobby. He discovers that some of his colleagues are also badminton players and together form a team.
