With the launch of the winter transfer window, players at the end of their contract next June can now negotiate freely with other teams and possibly sign a pre-contract before arriving this summer. Between Kylian Mbappé, Paul Pogba, Paulo Dybala or Luis Suarez, many are in this situation. And Antonio Rüdiger is also one of them. Arrived at Chelsea in 2017 from AS Roma, the German defender has not yet extended with the Blues, and that is not the trend.

Because for the past few months, the 28-year-old is clearly on a cloud. Author of 25 appearances in all competitions this season with the London club, Chelsea number 2 has a string of quality performances and is today one of the fittest central defenders. Suddenly, the big European teams looked at his situation, whether it was Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid. But on the side of Casa Blanca, the situation seems to have changed lately.

Real prefer to recruit a young defender

As reported ABC, the Merengues no longer want to recruit Antonio Rüdiger next summer. The reasons ? The Spanish club are satisfied with the performances of David Alaba and Eder Militao and do not intend to bring another experienced defender back to the central hinge. The Spanish media say that if Real Madrid get their hands on a defender, it will be a young player who will have to win behind the two players mentioned above and also Nacho. But there is also another explanation for this decision.

The daily adds that the Rüdiger clan asks in particular for a signing bonus of 20 million euros from the future club of the German, and “Real Madrid feels used by the representative” of the player writes ABC. All these reasons therefore mean that President Florentino Pérez and his teams will not go further in this matter. We can therefore speak of good news for Paris Saint-Germain, who were recently the other club in the race for the signing of the Stuttgart-trained player.
