JAKARTA – The issue of Mesut Ozil joining RANS Cilegon FC seems to be coming true because Raffi Ahmad as chairman of the club has promised to bring the Fenerbahce player to Indonesia. Raffi will make Ozil play for Rans Cilegon as long as certain conditions are met first.
Quoting from a video on RANS Entertainment’s youtube channel, Raffi Ahmad said that he wanted to bring in Mesut Ozil next year or in 2023. However, to make it all happen, Raffi felt that RANS Cilegon had to perform well first.
For this reason, Raffi gave the condition that his club must be able to finish in the top five in the League 1 event next season. According to Raffi, if RANS Cilegon was able to hit Liga 1 in its first year in the competition, then Ozil deserved to defend his club.

“For example, this year (RANS Cilegon) is in the top five of Liga 1 (next season), then next year we will bring in Mesut Ozil,” said Raffi Ahmad, in his video with Hamka Hamzah, Saturday (22/1/2022).
“I’ve made calls (with Ozil). WA (Whatsapp) has continued with him,” added Raffi convincingly.
Of course, Raffi’s words re-warmed the issue of RANS Cilegon FC who were interested in Mesut Ozil. Initially, Raffi said that he had been confused by the price his club had to pay just to bring in the former Arsenal and Real Madrid player.
Ozil’s current price is still high, even though the golden age of the former German National Team (Timnas) player has passed.
Based on the Transfermarkt page, at least Ozil’s current market price is still 3.7 million euros, or approximately Rp. 60.1 billion. That’s just the purchase price from Fenerbahce, not to mention Ozil’s salary, which is still fantastic at the age of 33.
Based on data from The Sun, Mesut Ozil’s salary with Fenerbahce, which is one of the top clubs in Turkey, reaches 3.5 million pounds or equivalent to Rp. 68 billion per year. This means that in the first year, Raffi Ahmad had to spend Rp128.1 billion just for Mesut Ozil.
So, don’t be surprised if Raffi Ahmad says Ozil is too expensive. The funny thing is that now Raffi is actually really interested in bringing Ozil from RANS Cilegon FC to be able to finish in the top five when he appears in League 1 next season.
