PGA: Kevin Na on top in Hawaii

American Kevin Na kicked off the 2022 PGA season on Thursday in Hawaii after chopping nine par 70s at the Sony Open.

The 38-year-old began his first outing at the Waialae Golf Club with four birdies and an eagle on his nine to go. On the return one, he was more modest, with three birdies.

His score of 61 (-9) will allow him to start the second round with a priority of a single strike over an American duo of Jim Furyk and Russell Henley.

Canadians Corey Conners and Adam Svensson also started 2022 well. Each of the Maple Leaf representatives handed in a 64 (-6) card. The two men thus share the 9th place, tied with five other golfers.

The other three Maple Leaf members present at this event had more difficulty than their counterparts. Roger Sloan and Taylor Pendrith hit one more stroke than normal to share 119th place. For his part, Michael Gligic hit the white object 72 (+2) times, which gives him the 132nd position.
