Olsa Brakel takes over stock number second provincialer Burst: “Important next step in the expansion of our club” | Football 2NA

football second national ASurprising news from second national A. Not KVK Ninove, but fellow racer Olsa Brakel will take over the stock number from second provincial KFCO Burst after this season. Both club boards came to an agreement very quickly and made it official on Tuesday evening. Thanks to this acquisition, Olsa Brakel can further shape his plans for the future to start with a training team in the second provincial from next season.

“And that is important to offer our own educated and Brakel youth great prospects for the future and to allow them to develop in their own ranks within our four-star club. Our plans go further than this, but this is an important first step in our growth process,” said Brakel CEO Bart Vermeulen.

Last season, Olsa Brakel already had the idea of rolling out his plans by starting a training team at provincial level. “With this realization, we are not only making a statement in the municipality of Brakel, but we are also taking further steps in the realization of our long-term plans to allow every football player on the Parkweg to practice their favorite hobby.” A few conversations with, among others, Mere and Everbeek did not ultimately yield the desired result. With Burst, the yellow-black troops, under the impulse of CEO Bart Vermeulen and sporting manager Dieter Guillemaere, found the ideal discussion partner.

“Until a few years ago, Olsa was preparing his youth in Brakel for the big job, only to find out afterwards that some players went to other places and thus started working in the surrounding regional clubs. In other words, we have formed players for years for the benefit of other regional teams, which then finally went on to win the prize,” said Vermeulen.

Horizontal and vertical integration

With this important step, Olsa is fully committed to offering its educated youth all possibilities in both provincial and national football in the Stephan Van den Berghe stadium. “With this step, we want to further extend our strategy through horizontal and vertical integration. Not only will we be able to keep much more of our Olsa’ers in our own ranks. We offer a solution to every Brakelaar who wants to play football in their own municipality in a state-of-the-art modern infrastructure. We are convinced that this evolution will have the necessary connotations among the youth of Brakel who wish to take their first fledgling football steps and ultimately realize the progression to the first team at whatever level. In short, an offer with a total package.”

“We would also like to expressly thank the board of KFCO Burst for the trust placed in us. The deal was settled in no time, partly because Burst’s boardroom immediately agreed with our strategy and the written mission and vision for the future of many youth players at Olsa Brakel,” concludes Vermeulen.

Popular bride

That second provincial Burst was a coveted bride was already apparent from the reports that KVK Ninove had made an offer for the club. An offer that the board did not accept and now it is clear why. After all, Burst blends in with Olsa Brakel. “We had already given our word to Brakel after Ninove contacted us. You can’t break a word. Why didn’t we get involved in the merger story of Mere and Bambrugge? Because the plans regarding infrastructure and timeline in which all this should happen are not concrete to this day and we do not want to blindly enter such a merger. In addition, we support Olsa’s idea of acting as a sort of intermediate platform for promising youth players. As a board, we want to finish in beauty, because the story Burst was a finite story anyway,” says Jürgen Sonck, sporting manager at Burst.

Olsa Brakel therefore only takes over the stock number of the second provincial. The U6, U7 and U8 players who started three years ago will swarm out, as will the core players. There is a good chance that the new merger club EM United will play football next season at the A-site of Burst, owned by the municipality of Erpe-Mere. After all, the current site does not comply with the regulations.
