Robin Gosens could soon leave Atalanta Bergamo. At least that’s what the Italian media are reporting. Accordingly, the nouveau riche English relegation candidate Newcastle is hot for the DFB defender.
According to media reports, DFB national player Robin Gosens is about to move from the Italian Serie A to the English Premier League. Newcastle United have already made an offer for the Atalanta Bergamo defender, broadcaster Sky Sport Italia reported. Gosens could therefore get a contract for three and a half years and earn significantly more than in Bergamo.
A move to England could mean a relegation battle for the Germans. Newcastle were second to bottom in the Premier League after Matchday 22. Bergamo, on the other hand, is currently fourth in Serie A.
Gosens is still injured. In September he suffered a serious muscle injury in the Champions League game against Young Boys Bern. Gosens moved from Dutch club Heracles Almelo to Bergamo in northern Italy in the summer of 2017. Since then he has played more than 150 games for the Italians and scored 29 goals.
