NBA rumors: Portland increasingly forced to move Lillard

Portland Trail Blazers is one of the NBA franchises in desperate need of a trade (ahead of the Winter Transfer Market Trade Deadline) to immediately change its course in the competition. The franchise is 12th in the Western Conference with a record of 14 wins and 23 losses with a roster that can perfectly compete for the top spots in the table.

This has caused that, during the last weeks, practically all the rumors NBA center on the Blazers themselves. The Oregon team put their entire team on the market except for Damian Lillard. However, and after the latest information from Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report, they are going to have to reconsider this decision.

Portland has been one of the teams that has taken the most interest in Ben Simmons. Until now, the best player included in their offer was CJ McCollum, but the value of this has plummeted in the last hours as Pincus recounts: “Some NBA executives consider McCollum to be a ‘negative business asset’ for the team that receives him.”

This refers to the fact that the Blazers are labeling CJ McCollum as a ‘superstar’, when in fact his value is less. This forces Portland directly to start thinking about the possible move of Damian Lillard if they want to continue receiving one or more high-level players, either with the Philadelphia 76ers or with any other team in their situation.

Injured

Damian Lillard will be reevaluated on January 9 for an abdominal injury, which will cause him to miss the next two Portland Trail Blazers games.
