NBA – Obscene words after a lowered thumb: NBA pro Randle has to pay $ 25,000

New York (SID) – NBA pro Julius Randle of the New York Knick has to pay $ 25,000, according to obscene words in a TV interview. The 27-year-old had lowered his thumb in the direction of his own fans on the edge of the late comeback in the 108:10 home win against the Boston Celtics and then loudly explained this gesture.

The NBA fined Randle for “outrageous use of profane language during a media interview”. The American, who had previously been booed several times by his own attachment, had told reporters when asked that he had asked the audience to “shut up”.

On Friday, Randle apologized in a statement on Instagram. He announced that in retrospect he should have resolved the situation differently. Last season he was named the NBA’s “Most Improved Player”.
