Curry’s impact on basketball and being at the forefront of changing the way you play is amazing, right? It literally changed the way the sport was played, the way young people play it and the way it resonates with young people, that’s the one thing LeBron doesn’t have.
LeBron was the league’s best player for a decade and a half and enjoyed one of the greatest careers of all time, but you can’t honestly say he changed the way you play basketball … field, he sort of perfected things that were already there. Curry really changed basketball.
Certainly the Warrior’s style of play is the most popular in the world today, having revolutionized three-point shooting. But we must not forget that without the Chosen One, not sure that today we would have 3 positions as exceptional as are Kawhi Leonard, Paul George or even Kevin Durant. James showed as the only Larry Bird before him that wingers could lead a team to the title, which greatly changed the way they recruited between the years 2000 and 2010.
Not sure that everyone agrees with Bill Simmons on this one, especially the young players who took example from LeBron James. If the dominant wingers are so much in fashion these days, it is also because he led the way. If that’s not influencing the game …
