LBMQ: three nominations for the Brock

BASEBALL. The Brock de Drummondville’s first season in the Quebec Major League Baseball (LBMQ) earned him nominations in three categories at the 2021 circuit gala.

Initially, the Brock are in contention for the title of organization par excellence within the LBMQ. The Sherbrooke Expos and the Pirates of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu are the other two finalists for this prestigious award.

After finishing last in the general standings, the Drummondvillois (5-17) eliminated the Big Bill from Coaticook (11-11) in the first round of the playoffs before selling their skin dearly against potential champions, the Cascades de Shawinigan ( 16-6), in the quarterfinals.

For his part, Mathieu Audet is one of the three finalists for obtaining the title of general manager of the year. His counterparts from the Cascades de Shawinigan, Eraklis Tzavellas, and the Blue Sox from Thetford Mines, François Lécuyer, are also nominated.

For his part, Billy Germaine is a finalist for the title of receiver on the all-star team of the LBMQ. The athlete from British Columbia is in contention with Bruno Laurin, of the Expos de Sherbrooke, and Guillaume Morin, of the Pirates of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.

We should also note that Drummondvillois Karl Gosselin, from Cactus in Victoriaville, is one of the three finalists for the third baseman position on the LBMQ all-star team.

Finally, the former Brock color-bearer Xavier Tremblay, of the Cascades de Shawinigan, is nominated for the title of pitcher par excellence of the year.

The unveiling of the winners in each category will take place over the next week.
