Judo Federation presented Cuban Justo Noda as the new Head Coach of the national team

Great news for national sport. The Peruvian Sports Federation of Judo is already preparing for the Olympic cycle towards the ODESUR Games, Pan American Games Santiago 2023 and the Olympic Games Paris 2024, and this Tuesday it presented the new Head Coach of the team, the Cuban coach, Justo Noda, 8th Dan, awarded by the International Judo Federation.

The Judo Peru team, under the management of its president María Martínez, presented the work team of the new head coach at VIDENA, who will be accompanied by Franco Loza Zamudio as Head of the Technical Unit and the coaches Jesús Gavidia, Angelo Acosta, Giancarlo Leyton, Luis Angeles, Pedro Manrique and Kenji Castillo.

Professor Justo Noda is an eminence in world judo, and has been present in the most important sporting events worldwide: 7 Olympic Games, 20 World Championships, 8 Pan American Games and 7 in the Central American and Caribbean Games.

María Martínez pointed out: “I want to thank everyone for being together. The Federation during these years has made many efforts. A multidisciplinary team that has achieved triumphs. We have achieved achievements and now with the new head coach we are going to prepare ourselves to achieve great goals. Justo Noda is an eminence in judo. In Beijing 2008 we sat in the coaching chairs with Justo Noda. Before on the opposite side and now on the same team”.

On the other hand, Justo Noda indicated that “I thank the Pan American Judo Confederation. To the Peruvian Judo Federation. To its president María Martínez. We have great material. We have to have discipline and responsibility is important. We don’t want to create false expectations, but we are going to achieve great results”.

Manuel del Castillo, vice president of the Peruvian Olympic Committee, indicated: “I cannot fail to mention María Martínez as the person in the growth of judo. Before, the Federation was an institution with debts, now we have grown and a continuity has been demonstrated not only of people but of purposes. The cause we defend is judo. I am very happy with the presence of sensei Justo Noda and because a new stream of coaches is going to be generated”.

From the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games to Rio 2016, Justo Noda has been in charge of the Cuban national team, obtaining a total of 17 Olympic medals.

In the JJ.OO. Barcelona 1992 was coach of the Cuban women’s team, then at the Olympic Games Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016 he was coach of the Cuban men’s national team.

Justo Noda as DT has managed to lead his pupils and win 27 world medals in the senior category, 17 world medals in the junior category, 118 Pan American medals in the junior category, 56 medals in the Pan American Games and 56 medals in the Central American and South American Games. Caribbean.

The practical part has always been accompanied by the theoretical part, and it is precisely because DT Justo Noda has carried out 12 investigations on judo and has given 15 conferences on judo from 2012 to 2021.

It is important to note that the next events where the Peruvian Judo Sports Federation will participate are: Lima 2022 Cadet Pan American Championship (April 9), Lima 2022 Junior Pan American Championship (April 10), Lima 2022 Junior Mixed Team Pan American Championship (April 11 , Lima 2022 Senior Pan American Championship (April 15) and Lima 2022 Senior Pan American Mixed Team Championship (April 17).
