How do you approach this competition?

The preparation was greatly disrupted by the health context. I had fewer people on the mat than usual. Even if we tried to stay open during the holidays, we lack a lot of benchmarks on certain individualities. Last weekend (Bretagne cadets D1), I had a group that was not that bad. But they did nothing because two were ultimately not present for covid. Until the last moment, we will pray that there is no withdrawal.

Is there a lack of serenity?

Yes. Generally, January is a time when we have a lot of people in the dojos. This is not the case at all this year. Unlike bars or restaurants, we need a lot of time to recreate group dynamics.

Will you still go to Ploërmel with ambition?

For the boys, I have a good group, even if it is going to be reorganized because the trainings could not be done properly because of positive cases. There, we are three days before the competition, I do not know how to compose my team. This will be done at the last moment. For the girls, usually, we have a dense team with Virginie (Bodilis), Maureen (Le Cam) or Méryl (Hirtzig). There, I do not know what to expect because there are some that I have not had in training since mid-December …
