David Neres seems close to leaving Ajax in this winter transfer period. Shakhtar Donetsk’s interest was already known. According to Football International there are two other clubs in the market for the Brazilian.
It is not mentioned which clubs those are. De Telegraaf previously reported that there is “plenty of interest” in the Brazilian attacker. Reportedly, Ajax requires an amount of fifteen million euros for Neres. At the Amsterdam club, Neres still has a contract for a year and a half and for that reason Ajax is very interested in selling the Brazilian now or in the summer.
Ajax does have an important condition that players may only leave if successors have been brought in. In that respect there may be a close connection between the departure of Neres and the arrival of Steven Bergwijn, in whom Ajax has been interested for some time. Football International logically.
Almost five years of Ajax
Neres has been playing at Ajax since 2017 and so he has now been an Ajax player for almost five years. He had his best season in 2018/2019 when he reached the semi-finals of the Champions League with Ajax. In the years that followed, he struggled with injuries, causing him to lose his base place to his good friend Antony, among other things.
