Frontignan: Olympic week canceled in schools due to Covid-19

The operation, launched last year in a single school in Frontignan, was to be extended to all schools. The pandemic decided otherwise.

This year there will be no Olympic and Paralympic Week in Frontignan. The Covid-19 pandemic decided otherwise.

In 2021 within the Terres Blanches school

Launched in 2021 in the only school in Terres Blanches, this Sop (proposed by the National Education as part of Paris 2024) had allowed children, after an opening parade larger than life, to practice different sports (shooting archery, climbing, judo, races, BMX …), to work on their knowledge of the current sport but also to meet champions such as Marianne Beltrando (BMX), Julien Taurines (handisport judo) and even Nikola Karabatic (handball ) in video.

Intended in 2022 for all elementary school children

Building on this success, the City had decided that in 2022, this week would take place from January 24 to 28, within all the city’s sports structures, and was intended for all students in elementary schools. Unfortunately, this will not be the case.
