[FPN 최누리 기자] = A firefighter in the Incheon area who committed power abuse, such as wearing fire suits and making his subordinates play badminton, received a two-month salary reduction. However, the fire union called for a harsh punishment, saying it was a flimsy disciplinary action.

The Incheon Fire Department recently held a disciplinary committee and announced on the 11th that the former 119 Special Rescue Team leader A was given a light punishment of two months with a pay reduction for violations of the ban on private labor.

The disciplinary committee judged that fire fighter A had committed an offense equivalent to one month of suspension, but reduced the level of disciplinary action to three months in consideration of the awards he received in the past.

Fire boat A wore fire suits to subordinates at the helicopter hangar of the Incheon 119 Special Rescue Team last year and played badminton together. During working hours in August of the same year, there were also suspicions of abuse, such as having subordinates take care of a vegetable garden planted with cabbage, peppers, and lettuce near the 119 Special Rescue Team building.

In the course of the inspection, it was also revealed that Fire Boat A left the office early and left the place of work or used the budget for other purposes. It was also confirmed that he had violated the Corona 19 quarantine rules by setting tables outside the office building and having dinner with the staff. Recently, Fire Boat A has been transferred to another department within the Incheon Fire Department.

Earlier, in September last year, the Office of Government Policy Coordination conducted an investigation into the suspicion of power abuse by Fire Boat A. During the investigation, he said, “I’m sorry (to the staff),” and it is known that he admitted to some misconduct.

The civil servants’ union, who loves firefighting (Chairman Il-kwon Park, hereafter referred to as Sosa Gongno), strongly protested the results of the disciplinary action by the Incheon Fire Headquarters and requested a re-investigation.

Sosa Gongno said, “After reports of fire fighter A swearing and attacking employees, the Office of Government Policy Coordination and the Fire Department issued a fine punishment even though the Incheon Fire Department demanded the highest level of disciplinary action.” It is an example that shows that there is.”

He added, “Another executive from Incheon who punched another employee in the face more than 10 times during a dinner party only received a warning. did.
