FC Barcelona’s Spanish international Nikola Mirotic (2.08m, 30) was voted Euroleague MVP for December.
This is the second time this season that Barça’s interior has been dedicated after October. To achieve this, he has dominated all Euroleague players in terms of evaluation and points scored, and while his team leads the competition.
The MVP of the Month trophy is now in its 17th season. While statistics are factored into its award, they alone do not determine who is honored. The winner is named by Euroleague Basketball based on their performance and that of their team during the month in question.
Mirotic concludes this month of December with an average of 21.0 points per game and a very high skill percentage – 61.8% at two points, 50.0% at three points and 93.8% on free throws – , 6.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists for a PIR (rating) of 25.3 per game. Moreover, Barca beat three of the hottest teams in the competition, Anadolu Efes, Real Madrid and UNICS Kazan when they had four, six and three consecutive wins, respectively.
