“I had a 95% chance of having a spinal cord injury from my fall (damage to the nerves in the spine, which usually leads to paralysis),” Bernal writes. “I almost lost my life doing what I love to do.”
But it didn’t get that far in the end. Current forecasts suggest Bernal should be able to make a full recovery, even if it will be a long way back. “That’s why today I want to thank God, the hospital and all the specialists for doing the impossible.”
“Thanks everyone for the wishes too. I’m still in intensive care, but I trust God that everything will be fine.”
