The winter transfer period has started and many Belgian clubs are looking for reinforcements. That could lead to some notable deals.
According to Sacha Tavolieri, KAA Gent, Standard and Sporting Charleroi are about to make the most high-profile transfers of this winter. After Hugo Siquet’s departure, Standard is looking for a right back and hopes to be able to shop it at KAA Gent. It is in fact planning to bring Jordan Botaka, who is redundant at the Buffalos, into its home.
Gent would then shop at Standard again and bring in Joao Klauss (who is currently rented by Standard, but can be taken over permanently). The Brazilian striker can thereby absorb the departure of a Gent player. Laurent Depoitre seems to be moving.
The strong striker has an expiring contract with Ghent, which does not appear to be extended. He can still move this winter and move to Sporting Charleroi, which already did business with Ghent via Mogi Bayat and attracted Vakoun Bayo.
