Causes of 4 Indonesian National Team Players Banned from Appearing Against Thailand in Leg II of the 2020 AFF Cup Final by the Singapore Government: Okezone Bola

REASON 4 Indonesian national team players who were banned from appearing against Thailand in the second leg of the 2020 AFF Cup final by the Singapore government will be discussed in this article. The four players who were banned from appearing were Elkan Baggott, Victor Igbonefo, Rizky Dwi and Rizky Ridho.

The Singapore government through the Head of the Singapore Sport Institute, Su Chun Wei, sent an email to PSSI on Friday, December 31, 2021. The names above were banned from playing because they were considered to have violated the bubble rules.

“We can’t stop thinking about the Singapore government regarding this incident. We have already received a fine from the AFF because the four players violated the bubble rules on December 23,” said PSSI Secretary General Yunus Nusi.

“We have already paid the fine. Why now suddenly they punish players by not being able to play later tonight, “continued Yunus Nusi.

Yunus Nusi admitted that so far the Indonesian National Team had been disadvantaged by the committee. PSSI assessed that the food received by players was inappropriate. So far, Evan Dimas and his friends have only received boxed rice. Ironically, the nutrition received by Indonesian national team players is not optimal.

In addition, while in Singapore, the Indonesian national team was still on the floor and interacted with the general public at the Orchard Hotel where they were staying. That means, the bubble system is not running optimally.

“This email also does not have letterhead and is only written in the body of the email. It will continue to be sent on the eve of the new year’s 2022 turn,” said Yunus Nusi.

“Is this intentional or according to the rules. PSSI certainly will not be silent about this. The Indonesian national team suffered a lot during the 2020 AFF Cup in Singapore,” continued the former PSSI Exco member.

PSSI General Chair Mochamad Iriawan has ordered PSSI to write an appeal letter to the Singapore government. PSSI Deputy Secretary General Maaike Ira Puspita, Technical Director Indra Sjafri, Manager Sumardji also moved quickly.

In addition to making an appeal to the Singapore government, PSSI also communicated with the Secretary General of the AFF. However, until tonight there has been no official response from the Singapore government.

Tonight at 19.30 WIB, the Indonesian national team is scheduled to face Thailand in the second leg of the 2020 AFF Cup final. Previously in the first leg, the Indonesian national team lost 0-4 to Thailand.
