Gathered with other practitioners on December 30 at the vita course to celebrate their deceased colleagues, Me Wamba Tousse took the opportunity to announce his candidacy for the presidency of the Cameroonian Judo Federation.

It’s hot to see this kind of momentum of solidarity developed within a particular group. Apart from football, there are many sporting disciplines which are practiced among which JUDO occupies a rather special place. Indeed, after football, judo is the most popular sport in the world in terms of licensees according to Me WAMBA COUGH during an interview granted on December 30, 2021. At the end of 2021, more precisely on December 30, the Cameroonian judokas have decided to pay tribute to several of their own who have lost their lives.

Having brought together more than 300 people, Judokas and curious, these Cameroonian judokas have decided to pay tribute to these disappeared in the most beautiful way as they deserve. All former judokas, masters, a tribute was paid to them on the TATAMI. Indeed, several fights were organized for the occasion.

It is an activity organized without any support from the Cameroonian Judo Federation which should and is supposed to federate this kind of activities which contribute to the promotion and influence of Cameroonian Judo. It’s kind of been one of the concerns that Judo has had for quite some time.

The federation would largely deal only with international judo competitions, however, Judo in Cameroon is lagging behind. Indeed, out of all the ten regions of Cameroon, practically four stand out because they are the monopoly of the practice of Judo in Cameroon.

Today, in the central region, there are nearly 27 affiliated clubs, in the Littoral we have 14, in the West just 04 clubs and the east arrives with 03 clubs. According to the words of Master Wamba Tousse, Judo must be brought to life throughout the territory. “For a country that has had so many African champions, we cannot have 55 clubs and be happy about it. »

“I will be a candidate for the Cameroonian Judo Federation as soon as the hostilities are officially announced” were the words of WAMBA TOUSSE announcing his candidacy for the presidency of FECAJUDO. For him, it’s a promise he keeps. “I promised certain people, including the late Master Abolo during the African Games in Brazzaville, that I would no longer stay out of Cameroonian judo because this sport brought me everything and I made the decision to bring a project for Cameroonian Judo. »
