After an unspectacular first day of group matches, Cameroon won their second match by putting on a show.
the Cameroon, host country, had overcome Burkina Faso in its first match (1-0), and continued its flawless performance by achieving what is more the first card of this CAN until then unspectacular. The Indomitable Lions have crushed theEthiopia (4-1), with two assists from Standard side Collins Fai on their first two goals. Toko-Ekambi (11th) and Aboubakar (53rd) thus responded to Hotessa’s quick opening goal from the 4th. The same Aboubakar and Toko-Ekambi were 3-1 (55th) and 4-1 (67th), the Antwerp player Martin Hongla delivering the assist on this last Cameroonian goal.
On the Belgian side, Michael Ngadeu played the entire meeting in central defense; Fai and Hongla were also titular. The Malinois Samuel Gouet remained on the bench.
