Become a certified trainer – German Judo Federation

Applicants from the member organizations are admitted according to the guidelines of the Cologne Trainer Academy of the DOSB eV. The training takes place at the DOSB trainer academy in Cologne and concludes with the qualification to become a “state-certified trainer of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia”. The graduates receive the title “DOSB diploma trainer” from the DOSB.

Access to the further acquisition of university degrees is linked to the diploma trainer degree.

Application/admission process

Applicants are asked to send their application documents to the respective umbrella organization by April 30, 2022 to be submitted to the DOSB trainer academy in Cologne.

The following documents must be enclosed with the application:

  • Proof of technical college entrance qualification (in the case of foreigners, the corresponding qualifications apply, which must be proven in a certified translation)
  • sports-related endorsement of the application by the central association,
  • Trainer A license,
  • personally signed curriculum vitae in German,
  • Sporting performance and activity records,
  • a police clearance certificate,
  • a medical certificate of health that is not older than six months and on which the health suitability is attested,
  • Certificates of examinations taken in school and professional development,
  • a passport photo (also possible in electronic form),
  • “Intended Area of ​​Application” form (to be completed and signed by the Central Association!),
  • Anti-doping declaration (completed and signed!)
  • for foreigners proof of sufficient German language skills

The Admissions Committee decides on admission.

General information:

  1. The central associations and LSB/LSV contribute to the needs-oriented financing of teaching by assuming the costs of the study place and the students with a tuition fee. The study place costs €11,000. This includes the tuition fees of €2,200 to be borne by the student. A training contract is concluded between the central association and the student.
  2. Subject to available funds, the umbrella organizations have the option of applying for earmarked funding for the costs of the study place, depending on the intended deployment prospects of the admitted applicants.
  3. During the training, the trainer students have the right to live in the guest house of the Cologne trainer academy. Cost: €82 per person per week in a single room, €58 per person per week in a double room.
  4. At the beginning of each training phase, the students have to present a health insurance certificate from the health insurance company (law on the reorganization of student health insurance).
