Bayern starting eleven at the start of the second half of the season: This is how Nagelsmann replaces the numerous failures

In just under an hour, the ball is rolling in Munich’s Allianz Arena. Bayern open the second half of the Bundesliga with a home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach. The FCB has to compensate for numerous corona failures.

In addition to Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Bouna Sarr (Africa Cup), Bayern also have to do without Leon Goretzka (patellar tendon) and Josip Stanisic (advanced training). In addition, there are several corona-related failures: Alphonso Davies, Lucas Hernandez, Manuel Neuer, Tanguy Nianzou, Omar Richards, Leroy Sane, Corentin Tolisso, Kingsley Coman and Dayot Upamecano have all been infected including Covid-19 in the past few days. This means that Munich will have to do without a total of 14 players (!).

Julian Nagelsmann’s team stands up almost by itself: Sven Ulreich is in goal, who is only playing his second game of the season this season.

In defense, Nagelsmann has opted for a back three with Benjamin Pavard, Niklas Süle and Joshua Kimmich. Marc Roca and Marcel Sabitzer start in the central / defensive midfield. Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala, Thomas Müller and Malik Tillman start in the attacking midfield. The 19-year-old celebrates his starting eleven debut for the record champions.

From the Bayern amateurs roster today are: Jamie Lawrence, Bright Arrey-Mbi, Nico Feldhahn, Lucas Copado, Nemanja Motika and Timo Kern. Paul Wanner and Arijon Ibrahimovic from the U19 have moved up into the squad. Everyone is sitting on the bench.

That’s how Gladbach plays

Not only Bayern have massive personnel problems, also Borussia Mönchengladbach is not ridden to Munich with the best line-up. With Ramy Bensebaini, Denis Zakaria and Jonas Hofmann, three top performers are canceled.

Gladbach also plays with a three-way chain with Ginter, Elvedi and Jantschke. Kone and Kramer start in the defensive midfield. Before that, Netz, Neuhaus and Lainer were in the offensive area. Embolo and Stindl begin in the storm.
