Badminton Korea League established, ‘Lee Yong-dae and Ahn Se-young float every week’

Badminton Korea League is launched.. Stars such as Yong-dae Lee (Yonex) and Se-young Ahn (Samsung Life Insurance) visit their fans more often.

The Korea Industrial Badminton Federation (Chairman Kim Jung-soo) announced on the 10th, “The ‘2022 DB Group Badminton Korea League’ will start on the 13th at the Hwado Culture Sports and Culture Center in Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do.” This is a schedule that will continue for 3 days every Thursday through Saturday for 7 weeks until February 26th.

The opening match will be a match between Gwangju Bank and Miryang City Hall in the men’s division at 4 pm on the 13th. DB Group participates as a title sponsor and sponsors 500 million won.

Eight teams of men and women each participate and are divided into Groups A and B to play the group stage. The championship team is determined by the final tournament and the Champions League. The prize money for the winner is Rs.

The men’s division includes Yonex, Samsung Life Insurance, Gwangju Bank, Goyang City Hall, Gwangmyeong City Hall, Miryang City Hall, Seongnam City Hall, and Chungju City Hall. In the women’s division, Samsung Life Insurance, KGC Ginseng Corporation, Jeonbuk Bank, Pocheon City Hall, Siheung City Hall, Hwaseong City Hall, Yeongdong-gun Office, and Hwasun-gun Office participate. However, Incheon International Airport, MG Saemaul Geumgo, Suwon City Hall, Dangjin City Hall, and Gimcheon City Hall will not participate due to participation in international competitions.

The Korea League was the dream of badminton. This is because it is difficult to quench the thirst of badminton fans who compete with the largest number of clubs in Korea only with a one-shot tournament held every few months, and it is not easy to improve and maintain the performance of the players. It is for the same reason that table tennis, the same racquet sport, was launched on the 28th.

Stars such as Lee Yong-dae, a Korean badminton signboard, and Ahn Se-young, ace of the women’s national team, will participate. In addition, former and current national teams including Son Wan-ho (Miryang City Hall), the world’s No. 1 in men’s singles, bronze medalist Gong Hee-yong (Jeonbuk Bank) of Tokyo Olympics women’s doubles, men’s singles and doubles ace Heo Kwang-hee (Samsung Life Insurance), and Choi Sol-gyu (Yonex) Athletes compete for gender.

“Recently, badminton dramas and entertainment programs have been aired, and it has to be popular,” said Kim Joong-soo, president of the Federation. Chairman Kim is the godfather of badminton in Korea who led the mixed doubles gold medals of Lee Yong-dae and Lee Hyo-jung as the national team coach at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Announcer Jang Seong-gyu and talent Yoon Hyun-min, who appeared in tvn’s badminton entertainment show ‘Racquet Boys’, as well as Boo Seung-kwan and Kim Min-ki are active as publicity ambassadors.
