In less than three weeks, and in three stages, Stephen Curry has dusted off the history books of the 3-point shoot. On December 14, 2021, he had passed Ray Allen in the ranking of the most prolific 3-point shooters of all time, and then on December 28, he became the first player to reach the 3,000-shot mark in his career.
Finally, for this first day of the year 2022, with his first shoot behind the arc against the Jazz, the Warriors playmaker has again inscribed his name in the legend of the shoot. It was indeed his 158th straight game with at least one 3-point shot scored.
We must therefore go back to November 8, 2018, in a meeting against the Bucks, to find a match where Curry had not found the target at 3-pts. This record erases the former 157 games in a row which had belonged since 2016 to… Stephen Curry of course.
For the record, the 2015 and 2016 MVP started his first record series on November 13, 2014 and everything stopped two years later, on November 4, 2016, with a 0/10 against the Lakers. Three days after this missed game, against the Pelicans, the triple champion had stuck 13 award-winning baskets, the NBA record at the time!
