The 2021-2022 School Sports Calendar organized by the Provincial Council of Albacete, under the agreement signed with the General Directorate of Sports of the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha, experienced a new day in Albacete.
In one of the sports specialties, the Winter Athletics Championship was held, organized with the collaboration of the Castilla-La Mancha Athletics Federation and the Albacete City Council, through the Municipal Sports Institute. The competition took place in the Athletics Tracks of the University. More than 500 young athletes gathered to compete in the different tests scheduled by the Organization, both in the male and female categories. Modalities such as 500 meter dash, 1,000 meter, 1,500 meter, 5,000 meter, high jump, long jump, pole vault, weight, discus and march were held.
The Chess Championship also took place with the local phase of Albacete. About 170 schoolchildren participated in this School Age Sports competition, in a test organized thanks to the collaboration of the Castile-La Mancha Chess Federation.

The La Vereda Pavilion hosted this event that featured the child, cadet and promotion categories with the different games, under the Swiss competition system.
The School Sports Calendar will bring new appointments next weekend. Chess specialties are planned in Albacete, badminton in El Bonillo and cross-country in Albatana.
