Ademeba, with a plan to internationalize Mexican women’s basketball

In addition to announcing Jonathan Villegas as coach of the senior women’s team, the Mexican Basketball Sports Association through its interim president, Modest Robledo, reported that with this new process in the National Selection Commission they seek to return Mexican women’s basketball to the international level.

“The preparation is guaranteed and that we have the best conditions so that the players can be participating. It is being done with the biggest men’s team and surely we already have our annual administrative program to guarantee two very important tournaments that we are going to have, especially in the men’s major category, which is Cocaba and Centrobasket, which will be in November.

We are working day by day 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year so that they have the best conditions (for women)I am convinced that we have found support not only from the private initiative but also from different states that have joined in to support it,” said Robledo.

He assured that there are good relations with the president of the Mexican Olympic Committee, María Jose Alcalá, and openness with Conade to provide full support to the women’s sector.

“All together we are going to do a great job for basketball in our country,” said the interim president.

Robledo indicated that in the Ademeba they seek that Mexico not only participate in the tournaments of the cocaba Y conceived (Basketball Confederation of Central America and the Caribbean), but also the venue for both competitions. Cocaba will take effect from July 13 to 18.

For its part, Jonathan Villegas He said he was happy and enthusiastic about this acquired commitment, in addition to the fact that he will be announcing the concentration dates and blank tournaments later.

“I am very grateful for this opportunity, I know it is a very big commitment,” he said while pointing out his confidence in the sports synergy that is made in Mexican basketball.

While, Omar Quintero, head of the Ademeba National Teams Commission, indicated that a tour of the United States will be sought for the warm-up of the women’s team.
