Adachi Ward baseball equipment maker “Field Force” (Nishiikoichi) is planning to open an indoor practice field for baseball operated by the company in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture, and a simple baseball baseball game for school children in the same ward. Donate a set. Naoki Yoshimura (46) hopes that “it will be an opportunity for children to become interested in and enjoy baseball.” (Masashi Nishikawa)

In baseball for school children, the size of the home base will increase from about 38 cm in width to about 43 cm in width from FY2022 due to the revision of the rules of the Japan Softball Baseball Association. According to Mr. Yoshimura, the federation suddenly announced a revision at the end of last year, and sales of the old size base dropped sharply. I had an inventory of about 2,000 pieces.

We considered disposing of it, but decided to donate it because the base can still be used as a landmark for elementary school classes and nursery recreation. Mr. Yoshimura says, “The size of the base doesn’t really matter to the children who are starting baseball. It’s more enjoyable if you have a target base.”

The gift is a set of the company’s original old-sized home base, base for each base, and pitcher plate. It is said to be light and easy to carry.

Adachi Ward, which receives donations, will distribute one set to all 69 elementary schools in the ward, and Kashiwa City will distribute a total of 150 sets to the requested elementary schools and nursery schools.

It is still in stock, and Mr. Yoshimura is considering donating it to other local governments. “If you put a base, an empty ground will instantly become a baseball field. I want you to use it as an entrance to baseball where you can learn the heart and communication of helping each other with your friends.”
