Despite dozens of corona infections and the prescribed quarantine, the Italian league is sticking to the game, there will be no rescheduling of games. This led to an actually pointless demonstration right from the start.

Dhe Italian soccer league Serie A has agreed on a minimum number of players due to dozens of corona infections in the clubs. If one or more kickers are corona-positive, the club concerned still has to play its game if 13 players – including one keeper – from the squad are negative and thus available, the league announced on Thursday. The regulation only applies to this season. If you meet the minimum number and still do not start, you lose 0: 3 at the green table.

At the start of the second half of the season on Thursday, some teams threatened to be decided at the green table due to numerous corona cases in the teams. The local health authorities had ordered some of the teams to be quarantined, which would prevent them from playing their games. Affected are the Udinese Calcio, US Salernitana 1919, Bologna FC and Turin FC clubs. Some had therefore asked the league to postpone their games.

According to media reports, the league council met on Wednesday evening for a meeting called at short notice due to the current corona situation. However, he decided that there would be no transfer. Serie A had previously argued that there was no rule that provided for a transfer because a team had too few players available. The result is likely that games will remain on the program, but a particular team will not appear.

Better chances at the green table

It happened in the first game after the start of the second half on Thursday afternoon. The home team of FC Bologna could not compete because of the quarantine. However, the guests from Inter Milan drove to the stadium and even warmed up to prove their readiness to play and thus have better chances at the green table.

Turin FC should play at 4.30 p.m. at Atalanta Bergamo, and FC Venice at 6.30 p.m. at US Salernitana. The last game of the 20th match day should play parallel to AC Florence at home against Udinese Calcio and record champions Juventus Turin in the home stadium against SSC Napoli at 8.45 p.m. The latter encounter was also on the brink because of many corona cases near Naples.
