2nd golf course underway by Nicklaus in Los Cabos – El Sudcaliforniano

Los Cabos, Baja California Sur (OEM-Informex).- Following the incredible success of its first Jack Nicklaus Signature course, Quivira will expand and elevate the golf experience at the “End of the Land” in the Baja California Sur Peninsula.

The project will be located at the tip of the Baja California Sur Peninsula and just 10 minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas, in a spectacular setting marked by windswept dunes, rugged cliffs, and lush desert foothills. Jack Nicklaus, the world’s greatest golf champion and acclaimed golf course designer, crafted a world-class design that redefined the golf experience in Los Cabos when Quivira Golf Club opened in 2014.

Quivira Golf Club has obtained almost all the design recognitions that the golf industry has. Due to this success Nicklaus has returned to create a second course at Quivira Los Cabos.

The second Jack Nicklaus Signature course is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2022. The second Quivira course will expand the resort’s golf offerings and residential community to accommodate increased demand as a result of development growth. , which includes recently launched ultra-exclusive projects such as the St. Regis Resort & Residences, the exclusive new real estate community, Old Lighthouse Golf & Ocean Club, and Alvar Condominiums.

“The first golf course in Quivira has a spectacular design that stretches across an extraordinary property,” said Nicklaus. “Now, I am excited that the design of the second Quivira field is underway, which should be dazzling and equally spectacular. I hope that the golfers who play the second course enjoy the views, the quality of golf and the challenge”, he concluded.

While the routing plan for Quivira’s second field is in its final stages, it is anticipated that Mr. Nicklaus and his design team will create another world-class design on this outstanding piece of land. Located in the northwestern area of the 1,850-acre development, several of the holes on the new course will meander through rolling desert hills and sweeping valleys, laced with winding streams.

Quivira’s second Jack Nicklaus Signature course will offer a different challenge, but one that should reflect the high quality associated with the existing golf experience. The southern portion of the new design will feature sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and the westernmost point of the Sea of Cortez, which teems with whales during the winter months. On the inland side, tall, distant peaks will serve as a dramatic backdrop for several holes.
