With the participation of 16 representatives, all competitors -twelve in men and four in women- will take place starting this Wednesday, January 5, the summer basketball championship organized by Croatian Sokol.
The competition returns to the local basketball calendar after two years. Recall that the 2021 edition was not held due to the pandemic.
MEN
At the end of the registration period, the following men’s teams confirmed their participation:
Group A”: Air Express Cargo, Civil Works, Team Croatia “A”, Fénix, Transportes JQ and Inal.
B Group”: Pistoleros, Ayax, Team Croatia “B”, Banc Porvenir, Transportes Bishop and Team JC.
They will play a round robin all against all in the respective zones, classifying the first four of each one to the quarterfinals and then forming direct elimination brackets until the finalists are determined. There will also be a definition for third place.
IN LADIES
Four casts will participate in the women’s competition: Pistoleros, Magazzine Express, Patagonia and Español.
They will also be measured in a free-for-all format, but on two wheels. The first two will compete in the final.
The organizers will demand a Mobility Pass and also all the usual measures and protocols are contemplated.

21,15: Transport JQ – Inal (men).
Saturday 8
15,00: Gunmen – Magazzine (ladies).
17,00: Banc Porvenir – Ayax (men).
19,00: Patagonia – Spanish (ladies).
21,00: Air Express – Team Croatia “A” (men).
Monday 10
19,15: Civil Works – JQ Transport (men).
21,00: Gunmen – Bishop Transports (male).
Tuesday 11
19,15: Phoenix – Inal (male).
21,00: Team Croatia “B” – Team JC (men).
Wednesday 12
19,15: Gunmen – Patagonia (ladies).
21,00: Air Express – Fénix (males).
PREVIOUS EDITION
It should be remembered that the last edition of the Sokol summer basketball tournament took place between January and February 2020, shortly before the emergence of Covid-19 in mid-March of the same year.
In the men’s final, Valmag defeated Pistoleros “A” 53-50, while third place went to Gonzalex, who won South Latitude 89-73. Santo Tomás, Protec, Inal, Pistoleros “B”, Team Croatia, Transportes Vilicic, Green Team, Obras Civiles and Gym Factory also participated.
Likewise, in ladies, Casino Sokol won after beating Aliro Cárdenas 74-57 in the final. Third was Inacap after beating Aviation 49-44.
