With twelve goals in all competitions, Lois Openda is currently ‘on fire’ for Vitesse. However, the Club Brugge mercenary does not want to think about what that means for his blue-black career.

In his first seven Eredivisie matches, it did not work for the U23 international, but since then Openda has been unstoppable with nine goals in nine appearances. No one did better in the Dutch competition over the same period.

Vitesse is renting Openda from Club Brugge this season, so the question is already arising: what next season?

“I want to focus on Vitesse,” said Openda in an interview with Voetbal International. “I have no idea what Club is planning and I really don’t want to get involved in that. It’s also not the case that I necessarily have to go back to Bruges to show it there. I’ll show it here and I’ll see where that leads. I would rather look to the near future than to the distant future. We’ll see how it goes.”
