What an explosion of joy: debutant throws 9-darter in all-deciding leg | Darts

At the World Darts Championship we have now reached day 3. In it youngsters Williams Borland and Bradley Brooks competed against each other. The darts arena went completely through the roof after the all-deciding leg. Borland threw a 9-darter and was lucky with his luck. Blissful images.

Ally Pally was bursting at the seams. Willie Borland, 25, won the all-deciding leg in his first round match against Bradley Brooks with a nine-darter. And that on his World Cup debut. “This is unlikely”, the Scot beamed in the interview afterwards.

Will there also be a nice financial extra? If Borland manages to repeat his phenomenal performance at this World Cup, it will bring him £50,000. The first player with two nine-darters collects that hefty sum.

Incidentally, it was only the eleventh nine-darter in the history of the PDC World Cup, no one has succeeded twice in the same tournament.
