Two children and a man dead

Three people died in the late evening of Boxing Day in a residential building in Glinde near Hamburg. There are children between the ages of 11 and 13 and a man, all with gunshot wounds, the police and prosecutors announced on Monday morning. The investigation is on suspicion of a homicide. A woman was also found seriously injured by gunfire.

According to initial information, the four are a family. Findings also indicated that the incident had a family background, investigators said.

The police had been called to the small apartment building late on Sunday evening because of the gunfire. When the emergency services arrived at the house, they found the two dead children and the motionless 44-year-old man. The man died on the scene despite attempts to resuscitate. The 38-year-old woman was driven to the hospital after receiving first aid.

The public prosecutor and the police did not initially name a specific motive. The public prosecutor initially did not want to say who fired the shots and whether the 44-year-old is the biological father of the children. The spokesman also did not comment on nationality.
