Time to register for winter-spring activities

The City of Rimouski informs the population that it will offer a program of leisure activities and cultural workshops for the winter-spring 2022 session.

Those interested can now consult the online course offer aimed at a clientele of children, adults and seniors.

Sensamerveille

The Sensamerveille program, for children aged 3 to 5, is back for an 18-week winter-spring session and the workshops will begin on Monday, January 17.

Offered for over 30 years, this program supports children in their progress towards autonomy and through their transition to school. Through creation and expression, Sensamerveille promotes the overall development of the child through a host of varied activities. The complete programming is available online right now.

The garden of Pirouette and Cabriole

The psychomotricity program is back in the outdoors! Aimed at children aged one and a half to four years accompanied by a parent, the fun workshops aim to stimulate toddlers while initiating them and making them aware of nature and ecology. The child and his parent will be transported into a fantasy world conducive to learning and discovery.

The winter session offers 8 sessions of 50 minutes, from January 23 to March 27 (no activity on February 27 and March 6).

These activities are offered by the various recreation corporations in the area, in collaboration with the City of Rimouski. The programming is available online.

Cultural workshops

Intended for children, adolescents and adults, the cultural workshops offer several artistic disciplines directed by professional resources. For this session, drawing, improvisation and, as a novelty, initiation to theater workshops are offered for children and adolescents from 6 to 17 years old. For adults, drawing and watercolor lessons are offered.

Activities and workshops for those 60 and over

Several activities and workshops, always supervised by professional resources, are offered to clients aged 60 and over for the next session. As a novelty, a theatrical exploration course is offered. This introductory course allows you to experiment with the concepts of the body and the voice, the notions of the character, the game and the dramatic language, all in laughter and pleasure!

Farfouille

For the pleasure of the little ones, Farfouille continues to offer activities this winter! The objective is to allow children aged 3 to 5 to live their first leisure experiences in a positive way, at their own pace, with short sessions of activities adapted to their age. Young rascals can experiment with a new activity each month, with four 50-minute workshops, in the discipline of their choice.

New this winter, soccer is added to the regular activity offer of baseball and mini-basketball. On request, browsers can still get a sweater in the image of Farfouille! The Lisette-Morin library will also participate in the program by providing thematic books during the activities. More details online.

Inscriptions

Registration will take place in two stages this session.

First of all, for Sensamerveille, Le jardin de Pirouette and Cabriole and the cultural workshops for children, adolescents and adults, the registration period will take place in line from Thursday, January 6, 8:15 a.m. to Monday, January 10 at midnight or by telephone according to the opening hours of the administrative offices at 418 724-3157.

Then, registrations for activities and workshops for those aged 60 and over will take place. in line Tuesday and Wednesday, January 11 and 12, 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by phone according to the opening hours of the administrative offices at 418 724-3157.

In all cases, payment must be made at the time of registration by credit card and no registration will be taken in person or by email. Citizens who wish to register for a course are therefore invited to create their Sport-Plus account now or to ensure that it is up to date and functional. For online registration, a valid email address and a Visa or MasterCard credit card for payment via a secure site are required.

Vaccination passport

Note that the vaccination passport is required for all persons 13 years of age and over who participate in a sport or leisure activity taking place indoors. The vaccination passport will be required during the first workshop and you will need to present a valid identity document.

The activities will be held in accordance with the sanitary measures in force at the start of the session.
