Renowned golfer Tiger Woods will compete alongside his son Charlie next week in his first tournament since the car accident left him with multiple fractures to his right leg.

The former world number 1 revealed his intentions on Wednesday, 288 days after a collision in the Los Angeles area. As such, he’ll be in action at the PNC Championship, an unofficial senior PGA Tour event taking place December 18-19 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club Orlando. Last year, his duo placed seventh in the final round of this competition.

“Even though it has been a long and challenging year, I am very excited to conclude it by participating in the Cabin Crew Members Championship with my son Charlie. I will be playing as a father and I couldn’t be more excited and proud, ”Woods said on his Twitter account.

In addition to his leg injuries, the golfer was injured in the foot and ankle during his traffic accident. The following months were synonymous with a difficult rehabilitation for the holder of the 479th world echelon. A few days ago, the site Golf.com mentioned the possibility of seeing Woods take part in the father-son tournament, but that tests were necessary before a decision. On November 21, he released a video showing him hitting bullets.

Among the fathers who will end up on the greens in Florida are Bubba Watson, John Daly, Vijay Singh, Justin Thomas and Matt Kuchar. During this 36-hole tournament, players will be able to get around the course by cart, which should make Woods’ job easier.
