The Le Portel – Boulogne-Levallois match in Betclic Elite postponed because of the Covid-19

The wave of Covid-19, which affects the entire sports world and more and more Betclic Elite teams, will cause the cancellation of at least one match of the French Basketball Championship on Monday evening. Boulogne-Levallois warned the League and its host, Le Portel, that he was not able to travel to play this match of the 14th day.

Vincent Collet’s team, leader of the elite (12 wins-1 loss), is hard hit by the coronavirus and does not have the minimum number of players available according to the health protocol of the National League (seven pro players plus one coach must be tested negative for a meeting to take place).

Ginat and Crocker positive

While they had already had all the trouble in the world to win against Bourg Thursday evening (71-68), their workforce decreased – they have evolved to eight -, and discovering one hour before the meeting the positive tests of Miralem Halilovic and Keith Hornsby, the Metropolitans saw Tony Crocker and Tomer Ginat add to the list of infected players. Steeve Ho You Fat being bedridden (sick, but not positive for Covid) and unavailable, only six players were available for the meeting at the Portel.

Sunday’s match (5 p.m.) between Fos and Monaco was maintained despite requests for postponement from the Bouches-du-Rhône club, also hard hit by the Covid. Monday’s meeting between Paris Basketball and Châlons-Reims (8 p.m.) is threatened, as the capital club is also the victim of a wave of cases, including coach Jean-Christophe Prat.
