The FEJ chose its best athletes of 2021

Vanessa Challah was decorated as the best Ecuadorian judoka of 2021. The imbaburan athlete received this recognition during the gala held by the Ecuadorian Judo Federation (FEJ), in Guayaquil.

This season, Chalá was crowned Pan-American champion of this discipline in Guadalajara, in addition to obtaining the bronze medal in the Antalya at the Grand Slam, in Turkey.

Another of the winners was Bryan Garboa, qEu was awarded the trophy as the best U21 judoka of the year. The man from Guayaquil won the gold medal in the Pan American Youth Games, that were held in Colombia.

“We have paid the tribute that our athletes deserve after a year of results, important triumphs. Judo continues to bring success to our country and that makes board members happy of the FEJ ”, said Roberto Ibáñez, president of the organization.

In the sub 13 category, Melany Morocho, Juan Soriano and Emiliano García, were the winners. Yulissa Farro and Ayrton Lindao, were the best under 15s, while Kevin Ayala he was the best under 18.

“We are committed to organizing the World Junior Championships next year, responsibility that the FEJ received for its organization, fully demonstrated in international tournaments ”, concluded Ibáñez.
