The chief investigator of the British “party affair” will resign. He organized a party himself

Chief of State Simon Case was tasked with investigating Johnson’s breach of covid rules last year on Downing Street after reports of several parties during the toughest lockdown.

His task was to clarify the facts and inform the conclusions as soon as possible. But he did not manage to meet him. He resigned after The Times revealed that a party had taken place in his own office during last year’s lockdown.

“In order for the ongoing investigation to maintain public confidence, the head of state has been removed from office for the rest of the trial,” said a spokesman for Downing Street 10.

According to BBC information, a quiz night was held on December 17 last year for employees of Simon Case’s private office. At the event at Whitehall 70, near Downing Street 10, Case reportedly invited a total of 15 people. The invitations were to state “Christmas party!”.

“Employees of the private office of the head of state took part in a virtual quiz on December 17, 2020,” a government spokesman responded to the suspicion. “Several of them, who worked from the office throughout the pandemic and were on duty that day, took part in the quiz from their desks, the rest of the team participated virtually,” he explained.

“The head of the state administration did not take part in the event, but on the way to his office he walked through the team’s office. No outside guests or other employees were invited to attend the event. It took about an hour and food and drink were brought by those who took part in the event. (Case) spoke briefly to the staff before leaving the office, “a government spokesman said.

Some Labor has already been critical of the news of the party at Simon Case’s office. “Boris Johnson, as prime minister, set the tone for the state administration and the rest of the government,” said Labor vice-president Angela Rayner.

“With each new revelation, there is growing evidence of a culture of squinting over the rules. When the investigation began, Labor made it clear that the responsible person should be uncompromising and capable of a fair and independent judgment. These new revelations call this into question, “Rayner added.

Cases of government violations of the covid rules are beginning to buy up. The British press first revealed that a Christmas party was held at the prime minister’s headquarters on December 18 last year. Subsequently, there was a mention of the Christmas quiz and the November farewell to Johnson’s assistant Cleo Watson.

On Thursday, The Guardian and The Independent published the results of their joint investigation, which revealed further violations of the rules. According to journalists, the prime minister also attended the party at his headquarters during the lockdown in May.
